God is helping fill the holes, as I let him. Letting go of those that have chosen to let go of us. He's taken care of this hurt in his way by giving me more "friends" on FaceBook and Real Life then I ever have had through the Body of Christ and opening my eyes to acceptance and love for all men. Not fear for someones beliefs, but compassion and understanding for them. MormonISM couldn't do that and it shows by the Multitude of close relationships that have been ended and some that I feel are crumbling.
When I Blog I am in no way attacking "Mormons" Mormons are a People. MormonISM is an Institution. That's why I'm choosing to write it as "MormonISM". I have more love and compassion for the people then I ever have. I am attacking the Doctrine of MormonISM. The false misleading teachings that the Bible warns about. Bringing up Historical facts that the LDS Church has chosen to not disclose or white wash. Thank you Lord for my upbringing in a Polygamy sect that chose to teach much of the true history of it's origins. I've purposefully avoided, thus far, blogging about the many contradictions in it's history and what's been removed and changed, Biblical contradictions, misconceptions and false teachings, till now. I will be focusing on these many subjects and will be using some strong words that may offend many of my Mormon Friends and Family. If it offends you, you may want to think about why.
As my Sister said, quoting Elder Packer, “They [You] can leave the church, but they[you] can’t leave it alone.” These are the top 3 reasons why we who leave the LDS church can't or won't "leave it alone".
1) Our family is still in it.
2) We know the church is hurting so many good people.
3) We have so many ex-Mormon friends that have been and are being hurt by it.
Suggesting that those who leave the Mormon religion should leave it alone, is only wishful thinking for the LDS leadership and their unofficial apologists. The huge number of outspoken ex-Mormons is having the most negative affect on their proselytizing and retention efforts. Documented truth is the enemy of the Mormon religion.
The LDS leadership is unable to explain the phenomenon of there being a LOT more resigned ex-Mormons, un-resigned ex-Mormons, excommunicated Mormons and inactive Mormons in the world, than there are active members. They have lost so many members (And Tithing money from those faithful members, ours included) that they have been making it a priority to try and discredit those bringing forth the truth. Trying to scare their current members from looking at the truth through the talks and speeches and calling those who have left to "come back", regardless of the truths they've found.
We’re told that the LDS temple ceremony is secret because it is sacred. Well, annual statistics on the number of excommunications and resignations from the LDS religion must also be sacred, since not even the LDS faithful are allowed to know those numbers. Such stats are not published, and I have never known anyone to have requested those numbers, and received them. The only numbers published are the faith-promoting ones, because of the likelihood of a faster resignation snowball affect than there already is.
But, what of those who have left MormonISM and have published and/or spoken out regarding its falseness? What is so unusual about people coming out a religious system that they have come to realize is false, and trying to help others to come out, and try to prevent others from being duped? Nothing, at all. It is an act of love. Leaving the ‘church’ alone, would be to condone the false prophets, apostles and gospel being promoted, and not care about those who are still entrenched. While it is not an exact analogy to what I've just pointed out, it is true that Christ and His Apostles exposed the falseness of Judaism, and Jews were converted to the truth of Christ. It was, and is, the righteous thing to do.
From here on out, I will be bringing out the TRUTH that the LDS Church chooses to keep hidden. The contradictions between the Bible and MormonISM and much more including the many questions I had, starting in Polygamy, dragging them with me into MormonISM that finally fell to the ground with my "shelf " after gaining a relationship with my Savior.
I pray those who are quietly reading and coming to a knowledge of truth will have the courage and conviction to come to their Savior and allow him to loose the chains that hold so many in MormonISM and Polygamy, bound. Please pray for me that I will be able to write what the Lord would have me write to help open the eyes of the blind and cause them to search out their own questions without an agenda except for the end result being pure truth. Pray for those that would like to share these things with the people they love and give them the courage and direction to wait in Your time so You can touch them when they're ready. Thank you for your abundant blessings, in Jesus name, Amen.

Amen Andrea. Stay strong in the Lord. I am Mormon but come from a strong Utah Mormon family background. My father left the church when he was 18 got married to a non Mormon and moved from Sunset, Utah to California en he was 21. He was dubbed a Jack Mormon. As a child, spent every summer vacation in Utah on my uncles farm. My visits stopped just prior to my enlistment in the Navy in 1952. Over the years I tried to contact my cousins with no response. Since I'm a Christian I figured it was a Mormon thing. LOL I figure most are gone by now to the place where all Mormons go.
ReplyDeleteShould read I am not Mormon
DeleteHello Ron! It's definitely a Mormon thing. They can't understand it so it's shunned. They have to distance themselves from it. Many feel they will loose their Temple recommends if they associate with apostates.
DeleteI wasn't raised in the faith, but converted to the church at the age of 18. I found my self in the AUB after serving a mission for the church and being married in the temple. I have since left the AUB (some 10+ years ago).
ReplyDeleteI would like to present a view point that perhaps you haven't considered. That every belief system has SOME truth, for it is impossible for the human mind to produce 100% error.
Along with this concept I would ask the question, "is it possible for God to speak to an individual no matter his/her religion?". Can God use our beliefs to teach us what he wants us to know? Is our relationship with God personal or determined by our group membership?
Let me put it another way. When we are young our school teachers tell us that we cannot subtract a large number from a smaller number. Then a few years later once we have"mastered"that understanding of math we are taught a higher order of thinking. We are taught about negative numbers. So on and so forth as we are able to handle. Would it do much good to burst into that first grade class and give the "truth" to those first graders? Or instead would it be more helpful "and healthy" to live in such a manner that they can maintain enough trust for us that when their version of the truth no longer fits they can seek us out for help with finding answers?
Is it possible that nothing is broken? That things are perfect just the way God has intended? That maybe we do more good be building up truth than by tearing down error?
Just a thought...
Alex,
DeleteThank you for taking the time to not only read but respond. I don't always respond to the posts right away because it gives me time to read and ponder on what's been said and study about what's been said.
I will take your questions one at a time.
//I would like to present a view point that perhaps you haven't considered. That every belief system has SOME truth, for it is impossible for the human mind to produce 100% error.//
Do we only want part of a truth or the most truth we can get our hands on? 99% truth with 1% lie... Makes it a Lie.
Let's look at it this way. You have a glass of pure clean water and add 1% arsenic. It's Mainly water with very little Poison. Would you drink it?
The first part truth (Lie) was told by Satan to Eve in the Garden of Eden;
1The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”
2 “Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. 3 “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’”
4 “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. 5 “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” (Genesis 3:1-5 NIV)
Satan said that God lied telling Eve "You won't die!....God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil."
Satan's lies always contain some element of truth. He had to acknowledge the fact that God exists and that He had indeed spoken to Eve. Eve would have never believed Big Lie #1. Satan's lies are always couched in some truth making his lies seem more reasonable and plausible. Mormons foolishly overlook some false doctrine because it is so beautifully wrapped in sound doctrine and Drink the 99% Water with 1% Poison. Even a tiny amount of arsenic corrupts and renders harmful the once pure glass of water. In the same way, Satan corrupts and renders harmful, even deadly, the pure truth of God’s word with his lies.
If something isn't true, then what is it?
//Is it possible for God to speak to an individual no matter his/her religion?.//
God can speak to individuals. He is our creator and maker of us all. He mainly speaks to us through his Word, The Bible. Any other way needs to be tested by what his word says. If what you think God is telling you Contradictss what he has already said.. It must be tested. If it dosen't pass it must be thrown out.
(continued...)
//Can God use our beliefs to teach us what he wants us to know?//
DeleteLet me ask you a question. Are all Beliefs Truth? Can we base truth from a belief? How would God use a belief to apply truth?
//Is our relationship with God personal or determined by our group membership?//
Our Relationship with God is VERY Personal. It is not determined on any group Membership. It's between you and God. There is no middle man. No Church, Bishop, Pastor, Stake President, etc. No one!
//Is it possible that nothing is broken?//
It is VERY possible that things ARE Broken. Jesus himself pointed out such falsies and warned us of them. Not only warned us but showed us how to test them.
//That things are perfect just the way God has intended?//
"Things". Is Salvation a "thing"? Is Faith a "thing"? Is belief a "thing"? God makes things perfect. Man messes with them and makes them flawed. It's been proven over and over.
//That maybe we do more good be building up truth than by tearing down error?//
We definitely do more good buy building up rather then tearing down. That's what is so hard about doing what I'm doing with love. Pointing out what I've been taught and showing others the truth. Trying to get them to examine the 99% truth and 1% lie without offending.. but it's not easy. When you bring up the Bible truth it's bound to offend someone. Fear and hurt are a normal natural reaction to showing someone truth.
"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." ~Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love." 1 John 4:18 ESV
